Twice the Fools Play This Saturday!

Tacoma or Olympia? YOU DECIDE!

Tacoma or Olympia? YOU DECIDE!

Tomorrow (Saturday, October 22nd 2016), Fools Play Improv is performing NOT ONE, but TWO shows!

First you can see Fools Play at the Olympia’s South Sound Estuarium at 8:00 PM. Then you can see Fools Play at the Tacoma Little Theatre at 10:30 PM:

Fishy fishy fishy fishy boom boom boom

Fishy fishy fishy fishy boom boom boom

It should be noted that the South Sound Estuarium and Tacoma Little Theatre are about a 30-minute drive apart (in good traffic), so it is actually possible to go see BOTH shows. I, however, will only be performing in Tacoma.

It should also be noted that this isn’t the first time Fools Play Improv has performed at the Tacoma Little Theatre. NO! Fools Play had a memorable run there a couple of decades ago as well:

See Me In the South Sound Improv Comedy Festival Tomorrow (Saturday), and Also In the Newspaper Again!

3rd Annual Improv Comedy Festival

The festival starts tonight (Friday), but I won’t be innit until tomorrow (Saturday)

So this Saturday night (April 2nd), Fools Play Improv won’t be having a show in Tacoma as is their habit, they’ll be venturing back down to their old stomping grounds of Olympia to be a part of the 3rd Annual South Sound Improv Comedy Festival there!

We’re one of four troupes performing that evening, so we’ll only get a wee bit o’ stage time (plus we’ll be in a big all-troupes mash-up at the end of the show), but if’n you’re in the area you should stop by and see all the funny!

PLUS there’s a big ol’ photo of me (AGAIN) in The News Tribune in the article that talks about both Fools Play (and our now-over Improv & Dragons event) and the Festival!

I’d like to make it out to this show but honestly it’s rather unlikely. BUT YOU STILL SHOULD!

Animated Spirit Windows

As threatened, last Saturday night after Fools Play I went to Le Voyeur to watch my friends do the musics. As is my nature, I made some animated .GIFs of the evening.

First off was my friend Tangentbot performing his SPIRIT▴SHRINE project. Take a look!

Spirite[triangle]Shrine

Spirite[triangle]Shrine

Y’know, perhaps animated .GIFs of DJ sets aren’t the most exciting, eh?

After SPIRIT▴SHRINE came Urban Fantasy, a keyboardist and rapper. This was their first-ever live public performance. They explained that they usually have a third member, but she wasn’t there because she was suffering from “the consumption” like you get in the Oregon Trail video game. That was funny. I didn’t get a .GIF of them.

At the end of their set my friend @KowaiHitsuji excused herself to the restroom to get ready for WINDOWSNINETYFIVESECONDEDITION‘s set, which she was going to take part in. When she left @extropic_engine turned to me and asked if I was aware of what getting ready entailed. I said I didn’t, and he urged me to wait and see.

When @KowaiHitsuji emerged from the restroom she was dressed thusly:

That's not a Creepy Sheep, it's a Totoro!

That’s not a Creepy Sheep, it’s a Totoro!

And it was thusly that she performed with WINDOWSNINETYFIVESECONDEDITION:

Sing me a song, Totoro.

Sing me a song, Totoro.

As usual, Le Voyeur and its audience was its own weird self, but I enjoyed to see this show. I don’t think they’re performing again until September sometime (you can look at my calendar to see updates about that).

Spiritâ–´Shrine & windowsninetyfivesecondedition This Saturday Night!

DANCE&DIE@LEVOYEUR

DANCE&DIE@LEVOYEUR

So this Saturday night there is a musics show in Olympia featuring a couple of my friends. First off we have my friend Tangentbot performing his SPIRIT▴SHRINE project (Dark Electronica).

Then we also have Tangentbot teaming up with my pal Extropic Engine as WINDOWSNINETYFIVESECONDEDITION (Ambient Industrial).

Here’s a SPIRIT▴SHRINE track for your listening pleasure:

They’ll be joined by a couple of other music acts: Urban Fantasy (hip-hop/synth-pop) and Kim Jong Illin’ (solo acoustic crust punk).

I am so totally going to go to this show. I know what you’re thinking: but Chris Harris the Purple Fool, this musics show is on a Saturday night! You won’t be able to go because you always perform at Fools Play on Saturday nights.

Well, you’re WRONG. Okay, you’re right about the fact that I’ll be performing at Fools Play this Saturday night. But this musics show doesn’t start until 10:00 PM, which just so happens to be when Fools Play ends! So I’ll be peforming at Fools Play and then booking it the two or three blocks up the street to Le Voyeur to watch some musics happen in front of my very eyes and earses!

SO CAN YOU!

Originally The Old Salt was going to be a part of WINDOWSNINETYFIVESECONDEDITION’s set, but I believe he’s going to have to miss it because he’ll be up in Bellingham being naked onstage in a play. You know how it is.
