So the reason there hasn’t been very many updates these past few weeks (other than posting some videos and a review and an article that I’d written a while back) is because I had Jury Duty, which was a very strange experience. Suffice it to say that I never actually ended up on a jury, but almost ended up on three. I did read two books and played a bunch on my DS.
Anyhoo, that’s over now, so I can actually get a much better update schedule going here.
It’s been a couple of years since I’ve written an Oscar article, and seeing as how the Academy Awards are tonight, I thought I’d do it again! Because Carrie is out of town on her annual Tucson pilgrimmage, I’m finding ways to distract myself from being lonely. And this time, that involves seeing movies.
Yesterday I went with @elgaladwen and saw Slumdog Millionaire. It was pretty good, definitely a thumbs-up, but best picture? Really?
Then last night Laura & I watched Tropic Thunder, which is a really fascinating movie.
And at 4:40 today I’m going with @leiapico to go see Coraline in 3D at the new Regal Cinemas at “The Landing” in Renton. If anybody wants to join us, they are welcome to meet us there!
I might try to swing seeing either The Wrestler or Gran Torino tomorrow early afternoon if’n I can find anybody to go with.
This does mean, of course, that I’m going to be even more behind on my Movie Reviews than I already am. Le sigh.
