Baby’s First Zoolights

The Zoolights at Night!

The Zoolights at Night!

Last week we took Avery to her very first Zoolights at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium!

If you’ve never been, here it is in a nutshell: during the holidays they string up millions of lights all over Point Defiance Zoo, and after it gets dark you can walk the whole zoo and look at everything all lighted up and purdy. There are some very elaborate displays, and lots of “animated” lights. It’s a really, legitimately nice experience. Take a look-see:

And even though the animals are all put away for the evening, the Aquarium is open (though undecorated) for exploration!

The best part of the evening, of course, was when dread Cthulhu rose as a Christmas surprise and subjugated all whom he did not destroy:

Happy first Zoolights, baby Avery! Thanks to Google+ for automatically animated all of these images and making the Christmas lights sparkle. And long may Cthulhu reign!
