Stuff like this is why “Conan” is my favorite Late-Night show.

Conan + Archer = Conarcher?

Conan + Archer = Conarcher?

Conan O’Brien has long been my favorite late-night TV host. I watched the very first episode of “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” in my college dorm (gawd, I’m OLD). And it’s stuff like this that keeps me coming back:

My Famous Friends: The Ginger Fool Becomes a Citizen of the Z Nation!

Jamie is Fame-y!

Jamie is Fame-y!

Whelp, things rarely get more awexome than this. Fools Play Improv’s own Ginger Fool, Jamie Pederson, had a guest-starring role in last Friday’s episode of SyFy’s zombie TV Show, Z Nation.

And it wasn’t just some background zombie part or extra. It’s a featured speaking role; in fact, the first non-main character you see in the episode! And his character is kind of a badass, drinkin’ beers and getting frisky with the ladies…

Jamie likes his beers... almost as much as he likes his womens.

Jamie likes his beers… almost as much as he likes his womens.

Ginger action!

Ginger action!

Plus he get’s a full-fledged fight scene while shirtless! Come on!

Jamie likes his beers... broken on your skull!

Just lookit our Ginger Fool bein’ badass:

Don't make the Ginger Fool angry... you wouldn't like him when he's angry...

Don’t make the Ginger Fool angry… you wouldn’t like him when he’s angry…

The unfortunate thing is that Z Nation is of course a zombie show, and Jamie is only guest-starring on one episode… and when someone only appears in one episode of a zombie show it’s a pretty good bet they don’t do so well in it. So I don’t think it’s too much of a spoiler to say that things don’t go very well for Jamie. In fact, they go a bit like this:

That don't look so good.

That don’t look so good.

Y’know what I’d love? I’d love it if that image became a meme! Here, I’ll do the first one:

Make it a meme!

Make it a meme!

But still, the congratumaphone is ringing off the hook, and it’s for the Ginger Fool. Great job! You can watch the entire episode (and you should) entitled “Philly Feast” on SyFy’s website. Strangely, you have to login to your cable provider before they’ll let you watch it. You all remember your cable provider’s website login, right? Right!?

At any rate, Jamie is official now: he has his own IMDB page and everything!

Now go watch the Ginger Fool in action!

The Ginger Fool on TV in Z Nation!

z nation

Z Nation

Last Friday a new zombie-themed TV show premiered on the SyFy channel: Z Nation.

There’s something special about this TV show. And it’s not just that it was produced by The Asylum, the creators of Sharknado. Watch the trailer below and pay special attention at about 2:08 into it:

Yes, that’s right, the guy with the underwear-clad woman is none other than Fools Play Improv’s own Jamie Pederson, the Ginger Fool! Don’t believe me? Watch it again, and here I took a screenshot just to prove it:

Ginger action!

He’s a special guest star in the third episode, so you’d best be watching that! And also you should probably watch the two episodes leading up to it so you know what the heck is happening in the show.

So, Mr. Winger… Community Returns January 2nd!

My favorite TV show of the past 5 years returns somehow for a 5th season. Even though it’s a show that’s already run 4 years… and is about a 2-year college…

It’s gonna be hilarious. And that’s the Winger Guarantee!

Social Week Means No Time for Posts!

Wotta week! It was especially intense on the social front: there were two barbecues, an out-of-town visitor, and the three-part season finale of NBC’s Community!

Mega Jeff

And what a three-part finale it was! The first episode saw all the characters’ likenesses digitized into a 16-bit, side-scrolling video game world (not an 8-bit one as was commonly stated). I particularly enjoyed that all of the poses and motions for Jeff’s avatar were based very closely on Mega Man. The whole aesthetic was very much like Mega Man crossed with River City Ransom crossed with Doki Doki Panic.

I am so relieved that Community was picked up for a fourth season, even though by all accounts it will be a half-season and definitely the final season (unless some sort of miraculous ratings increase happens). Still, I think four seasons is just right for a show about a four-year community college.

A Chang for the Better: Community Returns TONIGHT!

If you haven’t seen NBC’s Community, well, why the eff not? It is my favorite show on the TeleVision right now, but it has been off the air for the past three months. Well, that changes tonight, Thursday March 15th, when a new episode of Community airs at 8:00!

Listen, I know you’re still mad at NBC because of the whole Conan fiasco, but don’t blame Community for the idiocy in charge of the network. But do get mad at the idiots who took this show off the air for three months!

What has happened in the months since idiots in charge of NBC unceremoniously dumped on the show? Lookit here:

And now that the show is back look what it has in store for you:

Seriously, if you’re not watching this show and loving it I don’t understand you. Find the episodes and catch up as quickly as you can, because Community will Chang your life for the better.

Open Mike Eagle: Rappers Will Die of Natural Causes
Just like I did last year, I’ve named Mike Eagle’s new album as my Album of the Month BEFORE it is released! Don’t worry, you won’t have to wait long; it’s released on Tuesday 6/7. Here’s a video to tide you over:

It’s gunna be suh-weeet.

UPDATE: Here it be!

DVD of the Month:
DVD of the Month The Middleman: The Complete Series
The Middleman was a small show that kinda slipped under everyone’s radar a few years ago. It quietly aired a dozen episodes on ABC Family, then disappeared. It’s a shame; it’s one of the geekiest, most gosh-darn fun shows I’ve seen in a good long while. It’s a TV show for people who love TV shows, Movies, and Comic Books. It was canceled before they got to make the final episode, so after you watch the series you should pick up the comic book they made of the finalé.
