   Hey Chris,

   My name is Dan. I discovered your website probably close to sixteen or seventeen years ago when I was just a thirteen year old kid kind of browsing stuff about Metroid (Samus Aran is hot!!! being the first piece of yours I read). Over the years I always find myself stumbling back to this site, just curious if it has stayed alive.

   I don’t know what it is about this site, but something about it is so inherently… human. Even if you don’t post opinion pieces anymore and I don’t get to read your reviews, seeing that you still catalogue what you’re exposing yourself to is just so cool and interesting. It’s been almost twenty years since I discovered you (not sure how long you’ve been running the site overall) and here you are.

   thisischris.com has sort of become a bastion of humanity in a sea of AI-driven slop and algorithm-based recommendations and advertisement. For me, at least.

   Whenever I end up on this site, I’m reminded that there’s another human, across the country from me, and that he’s left his mark on the internet (and in a way on me). It’s a weird connection, but it’s a reminder that people are still out there doing their thing on the internet and that it’s not all garbage produced by AI or big corporations to convince me to waste my life, time or money on a product.

   This isn’t my favorite website; I probably look at it once a year, maybe less often than that. But it does hold a special place in my heart because it’s human.

   And I think that means a lot.
